Appeal 2: From the Permanent Imjunction
The Defendants' Motion for an extension of time to file their Brief was denied on 12/11/08.
IMPEACHMENT PROCEEDINGS:
This case has become one of the grounds for determining whether the
Governor should be impeached. The Chicago Daily Observer posted 2 video

APPEAL DISMISSED: The FamilyCare part of the case has been
settled in light of the Legislature's enacting a new law limiting the program to
famiies whose income does not exceed 185% FPL. So the Legislature
resoundingly rejected DHFS' 400% program. The Legislature also
grandfathered in those who were in DHFS' program and are ineligible under the
new program. Supreme Court's Dismissal Order
Defendants'-Appellants Consent to Dismissal of Their Appeals
settled in light of the Legislature's enacting a new law limiting the program to
